Spanish Lawmaker Turns Back on Politics – to Become a Bitcoin Guru
A Spanish politician has abandoned the legislature and his political career in favour of pursuing a career as a blockchain, Bitcoin (BTC), and altcoin expert.
Teodoro Garca Egea, the former general secretary of the Popular Party, announced at a news conference that he would be resigning from his position as an MP and leaving parliament, according to reports from Criptonoticias and ABC.
He suggested that instead, he will concentrate on advancing the use of Bitcoin and other tokens as well as a publishing career.
He announced the release of a book titled “Cryptoeconomics: Beyond Bitcoin – Possibilities in the New Financial System” in addition to outlining the reasons for his departure.
Garca Egea became the “number two” in the Popular Party after being first elected to the Murcian parliament in January 2012.
Garca Egea continued by saying he would “withdraw from politics”. He planned to “dedicate himself totally to private activities focusing on cryptocurrencies – his area of expertise,” according to ABC.
